The School of Medicine family is in mourning with the passing of Ms. Virginia Covington earlier this week. For many years, "Mama V" was a fixture within our school, providing advice and support to generations of Mississippi physicians. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27 from 4PM to 7PM and again on Friday, January 28 at 10AM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood. The funeral service will be held following visitation at 11AM with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. In memory of Ms. Virginia and with her family's blessing, The Virginia Covington Student Fund has been created to support future generations of medical students.
