The
re-designed
preclinical advising program pairs students and faculty members to provide students with additional support during the preclinical training phase. The program
assists students with transitioning from the undergraduate environment to the professional campus. The required advising meetings (1 per semester) focus on
challenges students generally face during the M1 and M2 years. Students and advisors are encouraged to go beyond the required meetings and find
collaboration opportunities, such as engaging in research or seeing patients together. Advisors can also serve as a valuable source of advice for students
facing challenging situations who do not necessarily wish to talk to
one of the deans. This great service and student mentoring opportunity demonstrates educational activity on the advisor’s CV, which may be useful in promotion.
If interested in serving as a preclinical advisor for the 2023-24 academic year, please complete
