Become a Robert Smith, MD Graduate Scholar and receive expert-level research training and mentorship in cardiovascular health, epidemiology and health disparities resesarch. Students enrolled in health care or STEM-related doctoral graduate programs are eligible to apply for this exciting research training and mentoring experience.

 

The Jackson Heart Study Graduate Training and Education Center at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC-GTEC) is committed to cultivating the next generation of scientists and innovators who will be equipped to contribute to the discovery of new knowledge and equally committed to the dissemination and application of this information to diverse stakeholder groups.

 

Our program is intentionally designed as an evidence-based, interactive research training and education program for graduate students enrolled in health-related degree programs from participating colleges and universities in Mississippi.

 

Please visit the UMMC-GTEC webpage for more information on program eligibility and email the UMMC-GTEC office staff to receive an application packet (or see attached).

 

The deadline to submit an application and the recommendation forms are April 5, 2023.

 

Note. Enrollment of the 2023 Cohort is contingent upon the continuation of funding through 2025.
