The Following Subcommittees of the Curriculum Committee of the School Of Medicine are soliciting New Faculty Members. EVALUATION

Charge: The charge for this subcommittee is to conduct, coordinate, and analyze all reviews of all components of the SOM curriculum on a regular basis to ensure that the stated curriculum functions as designed and has appropriate assessment tools for all programs.  This subcommittee provides feedback of the reviews to the Curriculum Committee.  The subcommittee shall consist of members of the Curriculum Committee appointed by the chair of the Curriculum Committee, the members of Evers Society who are members of the Curriculum Committee and all of the student members elected to the Curriculum Committee by the student body.

CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (CQI)

Charge: The charge for the CQI Subcommittee is to engage in ongoing planning and implement a continuous quality improvement process for the educational program.  The group will be responsible for presenting this data in a coherent fashion to the Curriculum Committee.  The activity of the subcommittee will ensure that there is effective monitoring of the medical education program by faculty.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
This committee seeks a Basic Scientist Faculty Member to Join

Charge: The charge is to provide oversight in the development of new courses, revisions in the format of existing courses and significant changes in curriculum design to ensure (1) alignment with the educational needs and learning objectives of the School of Medicine as well as the educational standards set by the LCME and the SACSCOC and (2) incorporation of appropriate means of assessment to validate improvement in student competencies.  To that end, the Subcommittee will provide advice and aid in the identification of appropriate resources during the development of new or modification of existing educational venues. In addition, the Subcommittee will maintain and revise guidelines for compliance with the School of Medicine's educational objectives and recommendations for course management in the form of the Course Directors handbook. Finally, the Subcommittee will make recommendations regarding course/curriculum innovations to the School of Medicine Curriculum Steering Committee.
