Colleagues, We need your help! One of the many parts of the new Introduction to the Medical Profession course is early exposure to various aspects of clinical medicine, including interpersonal & communication skills; medical history-taking; and patient presentations. On the afternoons of February 3, 8, and 17, M1 students will go to the Clinical Skills Center to collect a history from a standardized patient, document the history, and present the case to a supervising physician. To make this a success, however, your help is necessary! We need 10 faculty or senior residents with a strong interest in medical student education to come to the clinical skills center, observe the students on camera to evaluate their interpersonal skills; listen to the student presentations & provide feedback; and evaluate student performance & documentation. Each supervising physician would only be responsible for 4-5 students per half day. Training will be provided. If you have questions or are interested, willing, & able to help please email David Norris, Course Director for IMP1. If at all possible, please let us know of your interest and availability no later than January 23. Have a Happy New Year!
