Trailblazer Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education

The Office of Medical Education recognizes the time and effort our faculty put into educating the physicians of the future.  In order to recognize and celebrate your hard work we would like to announce The new Trailblazer Teaching Award Pin .  This award seeks to honor excellent educators.

Nominees should:

·         Be recognized by their peers as an effective teacher 

·         Demonstrate teaching innovations in course and curriculum design

·         Demonstrate the ability to engage, inspire, and mentor learners

·         Communicate clear, cohesive learning goals to their students

·         Engage in continual professional development as educator

·         Demonstrate educational leadership through collaboration with other teachers to enrich the scholarship of teaching and learning

·         Serve as a catalyst for the enhancement of teaching and learning

·         Value feedback and the on-going acquisition of knowledge and skills to enhance their teaching effectiveness.

If you feel a member of your Department meets these criteria, please submit their name and a short explanation to your Chair.  Any faculty member can make a nomination.  We plan to reward the top 3-5% of faculty in each department.  The Deadline for Nominations December 15, 2016.  Thank you for your dedication to our students and the educational program.
